AORR took part in the second Virtual In-Between Meeting of CIOR

On 29.05.2021, the representative of the Romanian Reserve Officers Association (AORR), col. (r) Dr. Crăișor-Constantin IONIȚĂ, participated at the second virtual In-Between-Meetings (V-IBM2) of the Inter-Allied Confederation of Reserve Officers (CIOR) held online on the Zoom platform, as a result of the measures taken at European level to prevent SARS-Cov 2 infection.

The main purpose of V-IBM2 was to prepare the CIOR 2021 Virtual Summer Congress (V-SC21) and to inform member associations about the change of the legal status of the Confederation in a non-profit organization established according to the Belgian law, to which member associations must re-register as soon as possible. Other objectives were: the presentation of the CIOR bank account situation, the request of the Republic of North Macedonia to become a permanent member of CIOR, the financial report for fiscal year 2019/2020 and the current budget plan, proposals for future CIOR presidents and the organization of Summer Congresses and IBMs, setting activities for the 75th anniversary of the founding of CIOR and setting the future of the NATO Reserve Force Platform (NMRN) at ACT.

Following the discussions and the persistent situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic at European level, it was established that this year’s CIOR Summer Congress will take place online, between 07 – 08.08.2021, without eParticipation fees. The first activity with physical participation will be IBM3, scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, between 28-31.10.2021.

During the conference, the AORR representative held discussions with the German VP present at the event, Cder (r) Sascha Rahn, on news regarding the visit of the President of the German Federal Association of Reserve Officers (VdRBw) to Romania to discuss and signed the Partnership Agreement between AORR and VdRBw, but it could not specify any planned date.
